Weekend Wrap-Up… June 1, 2014

The Brady Bunch lost one of its own today.  Ann B. Davis, who played Alice, their housekeeper passed away.

Days of Future Past is officially the X-Men franchises highest grossing film.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D season 1 will be yours to have and hold on September 9th.

Josh Brolin is Thanos.  Looks like there won’t be a Jonah Hex 2.

Will Smith will no longer be part of Brilliants.

Marilyn Manson will be in the final season of Sons of Anarchy.  If the show wasn’t creepy enough…

Is six seasons and a movie still possible?  Hulu could pick up Community.

The Arsenio Hall Show was canceled.  Unfortunately, it was just on at the wrong time.

Stargate is going to be remade.  As much as remakes are so passé, Stargate was phenomenal.

If you really want to be spoiled, Buzzfeed reviewed season 2 of Orange is the New Black, out next weekend.  Again, only read if you want to be spoiled.

And even though in internet terms, this is “old” news, Reading Rainbow is making a comeback.  Yeah, if you read our site, and you should, you know that this has been mentioned before.  But it is so, so important to make sure that kids in our country can read.  It may be shocking to know that many cannot.  So instead of buying Starbucks or a foam Minecraft sword, donate to LeVar Burton instead. Do that HERE.

That about wraps it up.   See you on Wednesday for more news!

Happy Mothers Day to one and all!

And now our geeky presentation of this week’s news…

Hi diddly ho, neighbor! Seth Rogan and Zac Efron’s new comedy, Neighbors, came out Friday.  So far, the reviews are great.

Here is the full trailer for the Street Fighter: Assassin’s Fist web series scheduled for release on May 23rd.

Amazing Spider-Man #1 is the best selling comic in over a decade, beating The Walking Dead #100, Diamond Distributors reported this week.  Perfect timing with the movie release?  Seems like it.

More Better Call Saul casting has been announced, although no one is from Breaking Bad.  But, really, is anyone else not buying that Xfinity ad with Badger in it?  Especially because he is wearing a cardigan?  Really?

In the saddest news of the week, Community was canceled.  There may not be #sixseasonsandamovie, but there is this lovely article chronicling the series and the past season.  And there will always be Troy and Abed in the morning.

Want to know what to expect for next season for all shows?  Check out this handy-dandy guide.

The Flash is official for The CW.

DC’s iZombie is also on the way for The CW.  They may be the best network on basic cable this fall!

An awesome show starring a female lead on ABC?  Looks like Agent Carter is gonna be a real thing!

Fun Frozen fanart!!!

It looks like Han Solo will not be a cameo role in the new Star Wars films, but rather strong supporting roles.

The Flintstones are back.  Or they will be shortly in a newly green-lit animated production out soon.  But the questions begs, do kids now-a-days even know who The Flinstones are?

Norm Wilson to play Wallace’s dad?  Well, sorta.  Reg E. Cathey has joined the cast of the new Fantastic Four as Dr. Storm, father of Johnny Storm.

Even DC is into the old-school pin-up art that is everywhere.  Check out all of their pin-up inspired Bombshell variants!
