Marisa Tomei Slated to Play Aunt May in ‘Spider-Man’ Movie

In a move that nobody honestly believes, Sony and Marvel have cast Marisa Tomei as Aunt May.

Aunt May, of course, is the woman who raised Peter Parker after the death of his parents.

In The Amazing Spider-Man, Aunt May was played by Sally Field. In Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man, she was played by Rosemary Harris.

Marisa Tomei, a fairly acclaimed actress known for My Cousin Vinny and In the Bedroom, does seem a little young and a maybe too sexy for the role. I like my Aunt May pleasant looking, but you know, elderly.

In my opinion, Sally Field was the best Aunt May. She was America’s Sweetheart, so it is was easy for her to fill the role of Peter’s loveable and caring aunt.

The as-of-yet untitled Spider-Man film is due for release in 2017.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Joss Whedon, and Breaking Bad are the best things to ever happen to me. I'm only a Three on MeowMeowBeenz. I really want to be a Four.
