Maika Monroe (It Follows) has been added to the cast of Independence Day 2. May I ask why is this happening? The sequel, not Maika Monroe being in it. How do you make a sequel to Independence Day? Are the aliens going to come back, but this time it’s personal?

The restricted trailer for Ted 2 came out today. I remember when I heard about the first Ted I thought it was the stupidest premise I’d ever heard, then I saw the movie and it was hilarious. The plot for Ted 2 sounds kind of dumb too, so chances are it’ll be hysterical.
One of the creators of Constantine, Dan Cerone, took to Twitter today to rally the show’s fans to get #SaveConstantine to trend. This was part of his brilliant plan to get the show picked up for a second season, and good God I hope it worked. If #SaveConstantine trended (it did) Cerone was going to show it to the NBC execs he met with Monday morning to pitch the show’s second season. Let’s all keep our fingers crossed that the plan was a success.

In a world dominated by Marvel and DC cinematic properties (see above) it is rare that we see indie books turned into movies. If you are an indie lover like myself do not despair, io9 posted a list of a whole bunch of titles that have at least been optioned or picked up to be made into movies.
